Where are the incisions for breast augmentation placed?

The most commonly used incisions for breast augmentation include: ·Axilla (Armpit). This incision is usually placed in the deeper aspect of the armpit. It is a very good option for women who do not wish for any incisions on the breast. Areola (Nipple). This incision is placed in the lower aspect of the colored area around the nipple, which is called areola. The length of the incision will vary depending on the surgeon’s preference and the size and type of the implant used. In general we use a 4 o’clock to 8 o’clock position incision in this case. Inframmammary (Breast fold) : This incision is placed in the lowest aspect of the breast, right above where the breast meets the chest skin. In most breasts, this is a very hidden position.
