Anchor Breast Reduction

Complete shape control!

Who is a good candidate for the anchor technique?

Any woman with any size breast desiring any amount of reduction.  The anchor shaped pattern of breast reduction is also known as “Wise” pattern and it is the most widely used technique of breast reduction because of the complete shape control obtainable with this technique.

Why are all these scars necessary?

Since this technique allows for complete control over the breast shape and size, the scars are necessary to control the vertical and horizontal component of the breast reduction.

What can be done to minimize scars?

New Day supports accurate tissue closure with techniques that leave the most insignificant scars.

Treatment after the procedure include:

·  Silicone sheeting

·  Anti-inflammatory and vitamin E application

Will I lose nipple sensation?

Depending on the actual technique used, loss of nipple sensation varies from 23% to up to 90%.  The techniques that are most successful in preserving nipple sensation are those that rely on the “medial-superior” pedicle.

What are the risks of breast reduction?

Risks of breast reduction include:

·  Nipple – areola tissue loss

·  Poor scarring

·  Asymmetry in size

·  Asymmetry in shape

·  Excessive or inadequate size reduction

How long does a breast reduction last?

The effects of a breast reduction are permanent, although it is possible that over the years the residual breast tissue may grow back partially or completely, in particular if after the procedure the patient experiences a pregnancy.

Why do I need the scar across the bottom of my breasts?

The incision in the bottom of the breast is  necessary when the breast has to be completely reshaped in order to obtain a pleasant outcome.  It is also necessary to obtain the tissue that will be used in the internal bra that will help in supporting the breast structure in the new position.

What is the internal bra technique?
The internal bra is the preferred technique used for breast reduction at New Day.  With this approach the skin and tissue from the lower and outer breast are used to build a bra – like structure that wraps and supports the breast tissue in the new lifted location.  With the internal bra technique of breast reduction and lift the final breast shape is rounder, more lifted, and a fuller cleavage can be obtained that gives a fuller uppper pole without implants.

What is the largest size breasts that can be treated with this technique?
The anchor shaped technique with or without the internal bra can be used to treat breasts with any shape and size.  Reduction and lift to virtually any size can be achieved with this approach.
